About Me
Hi, i’m Becky, a qualified RCVS- Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 20 years’ experience.
I’ve always loved animals — as a child I had cats, hamsters, rats and fish! When I was 10, I used to walk my neighbour’s Labrador, Bruce, spending whole days out in the woods with him (hey, it was acceptable in the 90s!). Bruce would often break out of his house to come to mine and happily hang out with me for the day — after we’d let his owner know, of course!
It felt like a natural step to study veterinary nursing. I qualified and registered in 2008 after completing a two-year college diploma alongside three years of hands-on experience in practice. Later, I went on to complete a Level 6 Graduate Diploma in advanced veterinary nursing, which helped me secure a role at a prestigious referral veterinary hospital, where i worked for over 10 years.
Now, as a pet parent to two rescue dogs and three rats — and mum to two (skin) children — I’m ready to work for myself support the community and bridge the gap in pet care.
During my employments, I noticed the veterinary industry is lacking in providing support within the home environment, and that is something I want to help change. I’m excited to be able to use my professional knowledge and personal experience to provide Pawsitive Walks and Wellness. With the aim to support our community, champion the veterinary nursing profession and focus fully on providing professional, reliable dog walking and in home pet care with a professional difference. My aim is to give owners complete peace of mind, knowing their pets are in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
